EXTENDED FAMILY PORTRAITS
Some sessions just remind me why I love what I do. The Gerlach family met me on North Beach for an evening spent soaking up the sunshine, chasing Koda around the dunes, and ending with the prettiest pastel sunset over the ocean. It truly couldn't have been a more beautiful night. One of the sweetest parts of this session was getting to photograph four generations together. Having Mary, her daughter Amy, granddaughter Blair, + little Koda all in one place made these photos so incredibly meaningful. These are the moments that makes photos that become family treasures years down the road. Of course, Koda was the star of the show. From running through the sea oats to giggling nonstop and splashing at the water's edge, he kept us all laughing the entire evening. Those little personalities are always my favorite to photograph because you never know what they're going to do next. One of my favorite images from the session is Amy + her mother, Mary by the water together. It's such a simple photo, but I know it'll mean so much more with every passing year.
To the Gerlach family, thank you for trusting me to capture such a special season for your family. It was such a joy spending the evening with all of you, and I hope these photos always bring you back to this sunset on North Beach on Tybee Island.
Thinking about booking your own family session?
Whether you're planning a family vacation on Tybee Island or you're local to the Savannah area, there's no better time to update your family photos than when everyone is together. Extended family sessions are some of my absolute favorites because they tell the story of your family exactly as you are right now—and those memories only become more meaningful with time. I'd love to help you tell your family's story.!
